How we put this together: We read each vendor's official pricing and feature pages on 8 October 2026 and compared what each tool takes in and puts out (text, audio or video), usage limits and price. We haven't run paid subscriptions of these tools for this article. Prices are in USD as shown on that date.

“Content repurposing” covers two different jobs, and most tools do only one:

  • Text to text. A brief, article or conversation becomes a blog post, a LinkedIn post, an email and a press release.
  • Recording to content. A podcast, webinar or video becomes clips, a transcript, show notes or an article.

A third group creates nothing. It republishes finished videos across platforms. Each pick below is labeled by what it handles, because a video clipper can’t help if your source is a written brief, and a writing tool can’t cut a webinar.

The tools

1. Parlance: one brief, five written formats (text)

Parlance handles text. One brief becomes a blog post, X thread, LinkedIn post, email (through ActiveCampaign) and press release, all in the same voice. It’s voice-trained on your writing, strategy documents and published content, and it starts from a guided conversation about the reasoning behind a decision rather than a pasted article. It’s built for public-company CEOs and the IR and comms teams around them. House rules are Reg FD-aware and aim to catch stock-promotion phrasing and in-progress deal details before a draft reaches you, and it remembers what you’ve rejected.

Self-service is $499/month (one voice, one seat). Managed is $1,999/month, with a dedicated content lead and a weekly strategic review. Billed monthly, invite-only. It works from text, so it won’t clip video or audio.

Disclaimer: we own Parlance (which is how we know it’s good).

2. Castmagic: audio and video in, written content out

Castmagic takes long audio or video (uploads, or imports from YouTube, TikTok and Instagram) and returns transcripts, show notes, summaries, blog posts, social posts, newsletters, clips and audiograms, in 60+ languages. AI outputs, clips and audiograms are unlimited on every plan. The meter is transcribed hours: 30 on Hobby, 100 on Starter and 400 on Team, counted as a library total, with extra hours to buy.

Hobby is $29/month, or $19/month billed annually ($239/year). Starter is $69 ($48 annual). Team is $199 ($139 annual) with five seats. Limit: it starts from a recording, so it suits podcasters and video publishers more than writers.

3. Swell AI: podcast episodes to articles and posts

Swell AI turns audio or video (uploads, RSS, Apple Podcasts, YouTube links, Zoom, Drive, Dropbox) into transcripts, show notes, articles, newsletters, LinkedIn posts, X threads, titles, clips and audiograms, using templates and a brand-voice setting. Studio is $29/month for 300 minutes of transcription and Agency is $49 for 600. Pay-as-you-go is $8.99 per 60 minutes. The free Hobby plan covers one upload a month.

Limit: the pricing section still lists “GPT-3.5 writing” and the homepage quotes 2023 figures, so confirm current plans and models before you pay.

4. Descript: edit video and audio by editing the text

Descript edits video and audio through the transcript. Its AI co-editor, Underlord, can pick clips and highlights, remove filler words, and draft social posts, blog posts, show notes and summaries. Plans are per person: Hobbyist is $24/month ($16 annual) with 10 media hours and 400 AI credits a month. Creator is $35 ($24) with 30 hours and 800 credits, and Business is $65 ($50). The free plan gives one media hour a month.

It handles video and audio first, with some text on top. Limit: it’s a full editor, which is more to learn than a clip generator, and AI credits are metered.

5. OpusClip: long video to short clips (video)

OpusClip cuts long video into short clips. It offers AI clipping with a “Virality Score”, animated captions in 20+ languages, filler and silence removal, and auto-posting to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels. The free plan gives 60 credits a month, with a watermark, no editing, and clips that can’t be exported after three days.

Starter is $15/month (monthly only, 150 credits). Pro is $29/month, or $14.50 billed annually ($174), with 300 credits, two seats and a social scheduler. Limit: video only, and credits meter your uploads. The page doesn’t say how many minutes a credit covers.

6. Vizard: clips at a lower entry price (video)

Vizard cuts long videos into clips, offers auto subtitles and subtitle translation, and lets you download transcripts. One credit is one minute of uploaded video. Free gives 60 credits a month at 720p. Creator is $29/month, or $14.50 billed yearly ($174), with 4K export, no watermark, scheduling and six social accounts. Business is $39 ($19.50 yearly) with 20 accounts, a shared workspace and a brand kit; extra seats are $5/month.

The Creator price shown is for the smallest credit tier (7,200 credits a year). Bigger tiers cost more. Limit: video only.

7. Riverside: record and clip in one place (video and audio)

Riverside is a recording studio first, with separate audio and video tracks per participant and up to 4K video on paid plans. Repurposing sits on top: Magic Clips, AI show notes, text-based editing and an AI editing and repurposing agent, with publishing to YouTube, Spotify, Apple, Instagram and LinkedIn on Pro. Free gives two hours of multitrack recording at 720p with a watermark.

Pro is $29/month, or $24 billed annually ($288), with a 14-day trial. Grow ($39, or $34 annual) adds social scheduling and a newsletter. Limit: it’s priced as a studio. If you only need clips from existing video, OpusClip or Vizard start cheaper.

8. Repurpose.io: distribution, not creation

Repurpose.io doesn’t write or clip anything. It automates distribution: post a video on one platform and it republishes elsewhere, resizing it, removing platform watermarks and scheduling or publishing. It now handles images, carousels and slideshows as well, and can back up to Drive or Dropbox.

Starter is $35/month, or $349 billed yearly, with three accounts per network and 5,000 published videos a month. Pro is $79 ($790 yearly) and Agency is $179 ($1,790). There’s a 14-day trial, and the first 10 videos are free. Limit: it produces no new content, so pair it with a clipper or writing tool.

9. Munch Studio: social content from your website and footage

Munch’s old address now redirects to Munch Studio, which markets AI that runs a business’s social media from its website, videos, photos and call recordings. Video repurposing is one allowance inside the plan: 500 minutes a month on Essential and 1,000 on Premium, alongside video scripts and generated videos. It publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok.

Essential is $38/month and Premium $60/month, both billed annually ($456 and $720 a year), with a 7-day trial. A monthly price wasn’t shown when we read the page. Limit: it’s closer to a social media service than a repurposing tool.

10. Claude or ChatGPT: the DIY text route

Paste a transcript or article and ask for a LinkedIn post, an email and a summary. Claude’s free plan includes up to five projects, memory and skills. Claude Pro is $20/month, or $17 on annual billing. ChatGPT’s pricing page lists a free plan, but it showed paid prices in local currency when we read it, so we couldn’t confirm USD prices.

It handles text only. You supply the transcripts, and nothing clips video, enforces style rules or publishes for you.

How to choose

  1. Start with the source you have. A written brief or an interview with an executive points to Parlance or a chat assistant. A recording points to Castmagic or Swell AI for written output, and OpusClip or Vizard for clips.
  2. Decide the output. Written formats, short video, or republishing are three different products. Most teams that publish both written and video content end up with two tools, such as a text tool plus a clipper, with Repurpose.io on top for distribution.
  3. Read the meter. Castmagic counts transcribed hours, OpusClip and Vizard count credits, Descript counts media hours and AI credits, and Munch counts video minutes. Work out your monthly volume first.
  4. Keep review for anything public or regulated. Clip tools pick moments, and transcript tools summarize them. Neither is a compliance check. For investor or other regulated material, route clips and text drafts through your usual review. Our guide to AI press release generators covers that format.
  5. Start free where you can. OpusClip, Vizard, Descript, Riverside and Swell AI all have free plans, so you can check output quality on your own footage first. For LinkedIn-specific repurposing, see our LinkedIn post generators guide.

FAQ

What's the difference between content repurposing and content distribution?
Repurposing changes the content: a webinar becomes clips, a transcript becomes a blog post, a brief becomes an email. Distribution republishes finished content elsewhere. Repurpose.io is a distribution tool: it reposts, resizes and schedules videos but doesn't write or clip them.
Which content repurposing tools work with text rather than video?
Parlance turns one brief into a blog post, LinkedIn post, X thread, email and press release (invite-only, $499/month self-service). A general assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT can rewrite a transcript or article into other text formats. Castmagic and Swell AI start from audio or video but output written content.
What's the cheapest way to turn a video into clips?
On 8 October 2026, OpusClip's Starter plan was $15/month (monthly billing only) and Vizard's Creator plan was $14.50/month billed yearly ($29 monthly). Both also have free plans with limits: OpusClip's free clips carry a watermark and expire after three days.
Can AI repurposing tools publish for me?
Some can. OpusClip lists auto-posting to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels. Repurpose.io is built around automatic publishing. Vizard's paid plans include scheduling. Review anything public-facing first, especially investor or regulated material.
