AI newsletter tools do four different jobs, and the label “generator” covers all of them:
- Drafting inside your email platform. beehiiv, Mailchimp, MailerLite and Brevo put a prompt box in the editor you already send from.
- A writing platform with a newsletter agent. Jasper drafts from your updates and brand voice, then hands you the draft.
- A voice-trained system. Parlance learns how one person writes and produces the newsletter alongside other formats from one brief.
- A general assistant or a curator. Claude and ChatGPT draft from whatever you give them. rasa.io assembles a newsletter by choosing content for each reader.
Apart from Parlance, the entry plans below run from $9 to $69 a month, and rasa.io doesn’t publish a price. The thing to decide first is whether you need drafts that sound like a specific person, or just faster first drafts.
The tools
1. Parlance: the newsletter in the executive’s voice, from the same brief
Parlance is a voice-trained content system for public-company CEOs and the IR and communications teams around them. It learns from your writing, strategy documents and published content, and starts from a guided conversation about the reasoning behind your decisions.
One brief becomes the newsletter and email version, plus a blog post, X thread, LinkedIn post and press release, all in the same voice. House rules are Reg FD-aware, steer away from stock-promotion phrasing and keep in-progress deal details out of drafts. It also remembers what you’ve rejected and what has performed.
Self-service is $499/month (one voice, one seat). The managed service is $1,999/month, with a dedicated content lead who drafts in your voice, a weekly strategic review and team access. It’s billed monthly and you can cancel anytime. Access is invite-only for now, and it isn’t a cheap volume-content tool.

Disclaimer: we own Parlance (which is how we know it’s good).
2. beehiiv AI: drafting where you send
beehiiv adds an AI block to its editor. You describe what you want, set the tone, structure or audience, and it generates editable copy. Other tools in the editor shorten or extend text, change tone, translate and make images. Its pricing table lists in-editor AI on Lite and above, with Pro getting five times Lite’s AI usage.
At 1,000 subscribers, Lite is $49/month on annual billing or $59 monthly. beehiiv Agent can create and edit content on Lite, and schedule and send posts on Pro.
Where it falls short: the AI features listed are prompts and tone controls, not a voice trained on your past writing. The Free plan doesn’t list in-editor AI. Prices rise with list size.
3. Jasper: a newsletter agent for marketing teams
Jasper’s Newsletter agent plans, writes and assembles newsletter drafts from your company news, product updates, offers and audience segments. It uses your Brand Voice and Knowledge Base, and can personalize headlines and calls to action by segment. Jasper says the agent drafts rather than sends, so a person reviews and approves.
The agent is included in Pro, which was $69 per seat per month, or $59 on annual billing, with a free 7-day trial.
Where it falls short: Pro is one seat with two brand voices, and Business is custom-priced with a 12-month minimum. Because it drafts rather than sends, you still need an email platform. See our Jasper alternatives guide for the wider field.
4. Mailchimp: AI inside the campaign builder
Mailchimp’s Write with AI generates text from your prompt and tone, edits phrasing and length, and checks spelling and grammar, inside the email builder. Mailchimp’s pricing page lists generative AI as a no-extra-cost feature on Standard and Premium, and “not included” on Essentials. Standard starts at $20/month for 500 contacts.
Where it falls short: it’s a beta, limited to accounts with a mailing address in Australia, Canada, the UK or the US. The terms bar using it for content related to health or financial advice.
5. MailerLite: a cheap platform with an AI assistant
MailerLite’s AI writing assistant works in the campaign, landing page and pop-up editors. It writes subject lines, headlines, paragraphs and calls to action in four tones: natural, catchy, professional or persuasive. Comfort is $12/month, or $10.80 billed yearly, for up to 500 subscribers.
Where it falls short: it runs on credits, caps prompts at 200 characters, and allows three regenerations per prompt. Comfort gets a limited credit allowance, and extra credits can’t be bought.
6. Brevo: AI on the entry plan
Brevo lists an AI content generator on Starter, described as drafting subject lines and email copy and adjusting tone. Starter was $9/month on monthly billing, with Standard at $18. Brevo’s pricing page also lists an MCP connection for ChatGPT and Claude.
Where it falls short: Brevo’s pricing page says little about how the generator works. Brevo is a general marketing platform rather than a newsletter-first one, and Starter is sized by emails sent (from 5,000 a month).
7. Claude or ChatGPT: do it yourself
A chat assistant with a set of your past issues and a style note will draft a newsletter, and both have paid plans. Claude Pro was $20/month, or $17 on annual billing, and lists Projects and memory. ChatGPT’s pricing page showed only local-currency prices when we read it, so we haven’t quoted a USD price for it.
Where it falls short: it doesn’t send, hold your list or enforce rules unless you build that around it. For a comparison, see how brand-voice tools stack up.
8. Kit: bring your own AI
Kit says it chose to connect to the AI tools you already use rather than build AI into every corner. It has a subject-line generator in the broadcast editor, Kit MCP to link Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants to your account, and an app store with 60-plus apps, some of them AI-powered. The free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers. Creator is $33/month on monthly billing, for 1,000 subscribers.
Where it falls short: drafting isn’t built into the editor. App prices vary.
9. rasa.io: curation instead of drafting
rasa.io takes a different approach. Its AI chooses content for each subscriber, so, in its words, no two members get the same email. It says it’s built for associations and nonprofits.
Pricing isn’t published. rasa.io says it’s set by organization revenue, product use and scope, with no per-contact fees, plus a one-time setup fee and a minimum commitment. You need a demo to get a quote.
Where it falls short: it assembles curated content rather than writing in a particular person’s voice, and it’s aimed at membership organizations.

How to choose
- Decide how much the voice matters. If the newsletter carries an executive’s name, a prompt box won’t hold their voice across issues. Parlance and Jasper’s Brand Voice are built for that. Editor-based tools are for speed.
- Check the rules, not just the draft. If you write about finance or other regulated topics, read each tool’s terms. Mailchimp’s beta bars financial-advice content, and Parlance’s house rules are set up for public-company communication.
- Match the tool to where you send. If you’re already on beehiiv, Mailchimp, MailerLite or Brevo, the built-in AI costs little extra. A standalone drafting tool needs a handoff to your email platform.
- Consider the connection route. beehiiv, Kit, MailerLite and Brevo list MCP connections, so the AI subscription you already pay for can work on your account.
- If you’re a membership group, rasa.io’s curation is a different product from drafting. Ask for a quote before comparing it with the others.

FAQ
- Can AI write a whole newsletter for me?
- It can draft one, but you still review it. beehiiv's AI block generates a draft from a prompt with tone and length settings. Jasper's Newsletter agent turns company news, offers and audience segments into drafts and leaves sending to you. Mailchimp's Write with AI, still in beta, generates and edits text inside the email builder.
- What's the cheapest way to get AI help with a newsletter?
- Brevo's Starter plan was $9/month on monthly billing and lists an AI content generator. MailerLite's Comfort plan was $12/month ($10.80 billed yearly) for up to 500 subscribers and includes an AI writing assistant with limited credits. Claude Pro was $20/month, or $17 with annual billing.
- Does Mailchimp's AI suit financial or regulated newsletters?
- Check the terms first. Mailchimp's help article for Write with AI says users agree not to use generative AI to create or send content related to alcohol, tobacco, weapons, cannabis, vaping, health or financial advice. The feature is also in beta and limited to accounts with a mailing address in Australia, Canada, the UK or the US.
- Can I connect Claude or ChatGPT to my email platform?
- Several platforms now list a connection. beehiiv has an MCP server, with write access on Lite and above. Kit lists Kit MCP on Creator. MailerLite and Brevo list MCP connections for Claude and ChatGPT, and Mailchimp says it connects to ChatGPT and Claude. These connections link an AI assistant you already use to your account.
