How we put this together: We read each vendor's official pricing and feature pages on 9 October 2026, with billing toggles switched where a page has them, and compared voice features, which networks each tool writes for, whether it schedules, and price. We haven't run paid subscriptions of these tools for this article. Prices are in USD as shown on that date.

A general chat tool can draft a post in seconds. The harder questions are different: does it sound like you, does it know what you can’t say, and does it fit where you post? Searches for an AI social media post generator come from three groups with different answers:

  • Individuals and small brands who want quick drafts. A chat tool or a scheduler’s built-in AI is enough.
  • Marketing teams who need saved brand voices and a shared workspace.
  • Executives and leaders whose posts represent a company, and who need one consistent voice and a review step.

Most tools below write text for LinkedIn, X, Instagram and other networks. Some also schedule. For the scheduling side, see our guides to Buffer alternatives and Hootsuite alternatives. For LinkedIn specifically, see LinkedIn post generators.

The tools

1. Parlance: for executive and company posts

Parlance is a voice-trained content system for public-company CEOs and the IR and comms teams around them. It’s trained on your writing, strategy documents and published content, and it starts with a guided conversation about the reasoning behind your decisions. One brief becomes a LinkedIn post, X thread, blog post, email and press release. It remembers what you’ve rejected and what has performed. House rules are Reg FD-aware and aim to keep out stock-promotion phrasing and in-progress deal details.

Self-service is $99 a month (one voice, one seat). Managed is $1,999 a month, with a dedicated content lead who drafts in your voice, a weekly strategic review and team access. Billed monthly, cancel anytime. Limits: it’s invite-only, it’s not a scheduler, and it’s priced for executives, not for high-volume low-cost posting. For compliance-heavy copy, see also our AI press release generators.

Parlance self-service pricing was updated to US$99/month on 10 October 2026 with owner confirmation. Self-service checkout is still in development and is not yet enabled.

Disclaimer: we own Parlance (which is how we know it’s good).

2. Claude: a drafting partner you direct

Claude has a free plan, and Pro is $17 a month billed yearly ($20 monthly). Pro includes Projects, where you can keep guidance and sample posts, and Claude’s page lists memory across conversations. It writes and edits well on request, but it doesn’t schedule, and it follows only the voice and rules you provide. Limit: you do the prompting and review each time. See our comparison of Claude and ChatGPT for writing.

3. ChatGPT: a flexible general tool

ChatGPT’s pricing page lists Free, Go, Plus and Pro. Plus adds Projects, scheduled tasks and custom GPTs, and the page lists longer memory on Go and above. Like Claude, it’s a general writing tool, so voice quality depends on your instructions. Limit: we couldn’t read the plan prices on the page on 9 October 2026, so check them there.

4. Jasper: saved brand voices

Jasper’s Pro plan is $69 per seat a month, with a yearly discount of about 20%. It includes one seat, two Brand Voices, five Knowledge assets and three Audiences, plus agents for marketing workflows. The trial is seven days. Business is custom priced. Limit: it’s a general marketing platform, not a social tool, so it doesn’t replace a scheduler. See our Jasper alternatives.

5. Buffer AI Assistant: AI inside a scheduler

Buffer’s AI Assistant is on every plan, including free, and is described as a way to refine and repurpose content. The page lists AI replies that learn your voice, limited to five suggestions a week on Free. Free covers three channels. Essentials is $6 per channel a month ($5 billed yearly), and Team is $12 ($10 yearly). Limit: it’s an assistant for editing and repurposing, with no voice training listed for posts.

6. Hootsuite Wisdom: for teams already on Hootsuite

Hootsuite says OwlyWriter and its other AI features have been folded into “Wisdom”, an AI assistant that drafts posts and campaign ideas and summarizes performance. Plans start at $99 per user a month billed annually, with a 14-day trial and no free plan. Limit: you buy a suite to get it. The page doesn’t list a separate AI-only plan.

7. ContentStudio: brand voice plus publishing

ContentStudio’s Standard plan is $29 a month, with yearly billing saving up to 34%. It lists an AI Studio for text, image and video, AI brand knowledge and voice, X threads and LinkedIn carousels, and five social accounts for one user. Advanced is $69 a month with two users, approvals and a social inbox. The trial is seven days with no card. Limit: it’s a full social platform, so you take on more than a writer.

8. Ocoya: credits for captions, creative and scheduling

Ocoya’s Starter plan is $29 a month ($290 yearly) for one user, five social profiles and 300 AI credits a month. Team is $79 for five users, 20 profiles and 1,500 credits. The trial is seven days. Limit: credits run out, so heavy use pushes you into a higher plan.

9. Predis.ai: visual posts and video

Predis.ai leans toward images, carousels and short videos. Core is $32 a month ($24 billed yearly) for 1,300 credits and one brand, and it has no auto posting on Core. Rise is $79 ($55 yearly) with 3,200 credits and four brands. Every plan starts with three days free, and it takes a card to start. Limit: it’s strongest for visual content, not long-form executive commentary.

10. Copy.ai: a multi-model chat workspace

Copy.ai’s self-serve Chat plan is $29 a month ($24 on yearly billing) for five seats, with unlimited words in chat and access to OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models. Its pricing page now leads with go-to-market AI, and larger plans start at $1,000 a month. Limit: it isn’t built for social publishing. See our Copy.ai alternatives.

How to choose

  1. Decide whose voice it is. For your own account, a chat tool with good examples may be enough. For an executive or a company with a review step, look at Parlance or a tool with saved voices. See also our guide to AI ghostwriters.
  2. Decide if you need scheduling. Buffer, ContentStudio, Ocoya and Hootsuite combine both. Claude, ChatGPT, Jasper and Copy.ai only write.
  3. Match the format. Predis.ai is built around visuals. ContentStudio lists X threads and LinkedIn carousels. Executive commentary suits a text-first tool.
  4. Check what happens to limits. Buffer’s free plan caps scheduled posts, Ocoya and Predis.ai use credits, and chat tools apply usage limits.
  5. Keep a human review step. Any generator can state something that isn’t true or can’t be said. If your posts touch regulated topics, review them before they go out.

FAQ

What's the best free AI social media post generator?
On 9 October 2026, Buffer's free plan included its AI Assistant with three channels and 10 scheduled posts per channel. Claude and ChatGPT both list free plans for drafting text. Free plans are limited in usage, so check the limits against how often you post.
Can an AI post generator write in my own voice?
Some can store a voice. Jasper's Pro plan includes two Brand Voices, ContentStudio lists AI brand knowledge and voice, and Parlance is voice-trained on your writing and published content. General chat tools like Claude and ChatGPT rely on the guidance and examples you give them.
Do AI post generators schedule posts too?
Some do. Buffer, ContentStudio, Ocoya, Predis.ai and Hootsuite combine AI writing with scheduling. Jasper, Copy.ai, Claude and ChatGPT are writing tools, and Parlance is not a scheduler.
Is it safe for a public-company executive to use AI to write posts?
It depends on your review process. Parlance's house rules are Reg FD-aware and aim to catch stock-promotion phrasing and in-progress deal details, but no tool replaces review by legal or compliance. General tools have no such rules unless you write them into your instructions.
